Templewater invests responsibly in high-quality businesses and assets and helps them to develop into great and sustainable companies

Templewater was founded by Cliff Zhang and Investec Group in 2018. Prior to founding Templewater, the two partners have been working and investing together since 2013, with extensive experience in making direct private investments across Asia Pacific and Europe, having deployed over US$6.6bn in equity and debt investments combined.

Today, Templewater is a spin-off of Investec Group’s Principal Investments Division in Asia, continuing the heritage and investment track record of the Investec Group.

Cliff joined Chow Tai Fook Enterprise
Limited (CTFE), focusing on private equity transactions, global M&A, and corporate development
CTFE is the flagship private investment holding company of the Cheng Family which is the controlling shareholder of the Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited founded in 1929, one of the world’s leading jewellery retailers. CTFE has a wide range of strategic investments across multiple industries. CTFE is also the largest shareholder of New World Development Company Limited, a constituent stock of the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index with assets of over US$80bn as of June 2021. CTFE, together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, has operations in more than 24 countries globally.

investors, established Goshawk Aviation
Cliff was a board of director of Goshawk Aviation, and a member of the Investment Committee and the Executive Committee.

Today, Goshawk Aviation is a top 10 aircraft leasing company of commercial aircraft globally by AUM. Goshawk’s owned, committed and managed fleet consists of 222 aircraft, on lease to 62 airlines in 35 countries.

Selected Deal Case: Acquisition of ICM Airport Technics in 2016
‍Founded in 2009, ICM specializes in the provision of self-service bag drop solutions for airports and airlines all over the world. Having processed more than 100 million bags worldwide, ICM is the established global leader in providing airports with either retro-fitted or replacement type Auto Bag Drop units. ICM operates globally with offices in Australia, France, Singapore, Japan, UK and the US. ICM was sold to Amadeus IT Group in 2019.
